Hello, I’m 42 and taking care of my 77 year old mom. I have never been married or have any children, now I’m faced with the challange of taking care of my mom. I’ve been taking care of her for the past 10 years and it is only getting worse. I don’t know how to handle this. I’m constantly getting frustrated with her. i don’t know what to do or how to make this situation get better

    Hi Grace,

Very sorry to hear what you’re going through.  Try to incorporate as much help as you can from friends and family, your community or church.  Don’t be afraid to ask for help.  The more you accept the situation as it is the less you will stress and worry about it.  What you resist persists.  Please check out our book “Oh My God! We’re Parenting Our Parents” since many have found the tips and articles very useful during this time in their lives.  We also have Certified POP Family Coaches that can help you come up with solutions to help you cope.

Grace,  Does your Mom need help?  If you disappeared “vacation” ,what would happen.  If you broke your femur, what would happen.  Ten years is a very long time, Family counceling?  Hope you can answer these questions for your self.  You sound like you are in pain.
